Detoxification for optimal health

Avoid processed foods. Read food labels. If the ingredients don’t sound like food, they’re simply not food. My suggestion is to avoid eating it altogether.

Detoxifying with water

Drinking water is essential for the elimination of toxins from the body. As a general rule, you can calculate your required water intake by taking your body weight in pounds and dividing it by two; this is how much water you should drink in ounces (example if you weigh 140lbs you should consume 140/2 = 70ounces or 8.75 cups of water per day).

When taking cleansing herbs, it is also important to consume adequate fiber and water – to ensure proper elimination of the released toxins.

Detoxification for optimal health

Consume foods to help reduce toxins from your body.  Consume broccoli and the other members of the brassica family daily (cabbage, cauliflower, kale, brussel sprouts). Broccoli has the highest amount of compounds in it that enhance your ability to clear toxins from your blood stream. It also has compounds that prevent cancer and can balance estrogen metabolism. Raw or juiced has the highest activity.

Detoxifying with water

When using water to increase perspiration, it is essential to replace lost fluids and electrolytes.

Detox basics

During the first couple days of starting a cleanse, it is normal to feel a little off (achy, mild headaches).  It is simply an indication that your body is eliminating toxins.

Juicing fresh organic fruits and vegetables with added proteins and fibers will satisfy much of the body’s nutritional needs while allowing more energy for the detoxifying process.
